Undergraduate Student Handbook 2011 - 2012
USING THIS HANDBOOK
This Handbook is intended for students following a degree programme offered by the School of Mathematics in the academic year 2011-2012. You should read the Handbook carefully at the start of the academic year and then refer to it at various times during the year.
The contents of this Handbook are correct at the time of going to press. However, some changes may be unavoidable and so, if necessary, you will be notified of any corrections by e-mail.
It is very important that you check your university e-mail regularly, as information and reminders are often sent to your university e-mail address. (Note that university e-mail is always sent to your university e-mail address, not to any personal e-mail addresses you might have.)
Information about individual lecture courses (for example, about the nature of the coursework or the dates of coursework tests) will be announced during lectures.
If you have any questions not covered in the following pages, then do see your Academic Advisor or Programme Director.
If you require any further information, please call in and discuss it with the Senior Tutor of the School of Mathematics (Dr. Ruth Thomas, Room 1.108, Alan Turing Building).
